Hi everyone! My name is Kerry Purvis and I'm an MLIS graduate student at San José State University. I'm (hopefully) graduating this spring (2016) and have begun the arduous journey of completing my e-Portfolio.The e-Portfolio Handbook page states that "The goal of the e-Portfolio is to provide a program-based assessment to
ensure that each student demonstrates mastery of all program learning
outcomes (core competencies) for the degree before graduation." This involves compiling all of the work I've done the last four years, which is going to be a whole barrel of fun...OK, not really, but I had the brilliant idea of creating a blog document my e-Portfolio journey, and that is going to be fun! During my e-Portfolio journey I'm planning to visit the many coffee shops in Portland, Maine, and writing some quick reviews on them as well. I figure I'm going to need a lot of caffeine to get through this, so why not take advantage of all the coffee joints Portland has to offer?
I'm also going to include a section listing some of the music I listen to during my work, mainly for posterity. I think it will be interesting to look back down the road to see what music fueled my work. I have a tendency to listen to music I call ear crack (mindless, badly written pop songs), so if anything it will be amusing to see later. :)
By the way, here's the tunes I listed to during e-Portfolio work today. It turned into a Vienna Teng session. If you haven't listen to her you should check her out, she's an amazing musician!
Omaha by the Counting Crows
Chances by Five for Fighting
Why Georgia by John Mayer
Better Than Reality by Valerie Orth
Let Her Be The Beatles
Fortress Around Your Heart - Sting
King of Pain - The Police
Next Time I Fall In Love - Peter Cetera & Amy Grant
Good Night New York - Vienna Teng
My Medea - Vienna Teng
The Tower - Vienna Teng
Gravity - Vienna Teng
Blue Caravan - Vienna Teng
So that's it for my first entry. Thanks for reading! Time to get back to work. :)
My husband loves Vienna Teng. This is all so academic, I'm currently in mommy world!
ReplyDeleteVienna is pretty awesome. I highly recommend seeing her live! How are things in mommy world? Hopefully more interesting than e-portfolio world. :)
